ABSTRACT
Oda, daughter of knight Wibert, lived in the neighbourhood of Bonne Espérance abbey. Oda told abbot Odo about her intentions to enter the monastery. The latter informed Oda's parents, who were upset. Her parents secretly arranged a marriage. Oda discovered the plan, cut off her nose and threatened with further self-mutilations. Finally the bridegroom lost interest and Oda could enter the monastery.
