ABSTRACT
The Irishman Romuldus traversed the continent, visited Rome and settled in Mechelen, where he visited count Ado and his wife. Romuldus predicted a child for the countess, who was barren. Ado's wife beared a child indeed, named Libertus. One day the child drowned in the river, but Rumoldus raised him from the dead. In appreciation of the miracle, Libertus' parents contributed to the foundation of an abbey, of which Libertus became abbot later on.
