Zeger van Male, Zegher van Maele, Zegher van Male, Zeghere van Male

Sex: M- Bio: Was born in Bruges in 1504. He married Antonine vader Maer (+1159) and remarried in 1563 with Johanna Haghe (+1569). Zeger of Male was a merchant and functioned in several public offices (in the administration of the trades of the merseniers, weavers of fustian and hat makers; in the town government; in the parish of Saint James). Moreover he was the governor of the school of Saint-Elisabeth of the school of the Bogards during several years. In 1578 he commissioned an ex-voto tableau by Pierre Pourbus. On the left side the commissioner is depicted with his two wives and sixteen children (church of Saint-James). He died on 7th June 1601.-Status author (order, function):
