ABSTRACT
Dutch biography of the H. Agatha. This Christian virgin from Catania on the island Sicily refused to marry the viceregent, Quintianus. Consequently, he let her capture. When Agatha rejected the pagan rituals, which Quintanius forced her to do, she was locked up in a brothel. Because Agatha remained loyal to her faith, she was repeatedly tortured. One of the tortures she underwent was the cutting off of her breasts. Eventually she died of her injuries (+ 3rd century).
