ABSTRACT
Life of S. Felicitas and her seven sons. Felicitas was a devout woman of noble birth from Rome who dedicated herself to the protection of the Christian faith. According to legend, she had seven sons: Alexander, Felix, Junuaris, Martial, Phillipus, Silvanus and Vitalis. Together with them, she was condemned by the Roman perfect Publius and underwent numerous tortures to renounce her faith. When it was clear that Felicitas, nor her sons, had any intention to repent, Felicitas was punished by letting her witness the slaughter of her sons. After each murder she was asked if she wanted to deny her faith. Nevertheless Felicitas persisted and found herself, like her seven sons, a violent death.
