Jean le Long most probably examined the texts he translated during his studies in Paris. Perhaps in the rich library of the abbey of Saint-Germain des Prés, where he possibly resided (see Ph. Ménard and A. Andreose).

French translation and adaptation of the Itinerarium de mirabilis orientalium Tartarorum (1329-30), the travel report of the franciscan Odoricus of Pordenone who was sent to the East by the pope.
