Sex: M- Bio: In the beginning of the 13th century his works were commissioned by Philip, count of Namur (+1212), and of Joanna of Constantinople, countess of Flanders and Hainault (+1244); he translated several Latin works. Wauchier de Denain was clerc at the court of Roger IV, châtelain of Lille (1st third of the 13th century). ABSTRACT
Translation of the Vitae Patrum (St Paul the Hermit by Jerome; St Antony by Evagrius (translation of the Greek text); St Hilarion and St Malchus by Jerome; St Paul the Simple by Rufinus of Aquileia; the Ist and IIIth book of the Dialogues of Gregory the Great, the "Historia monachorum in Aegypto" and the "Verba seniorum", by Rufinus of Aquileia). The author added moralizing commentaries in verse.
