CONTEXT
The chronicle was written to legitimate the reign of Charles V as Duke of Brabant and, at the same time, to educate the prince (Bijsterveld).
ABSTRACT
Chronicle of the Dukes of Brabant, covering the period from Pepin I (+639/640) until the death of Lodewijk de Vrome (+840), and Godfrey I (+1139) until ca. 1525 during the reign of Charles V, mainly a compilation.
