ABSTRACT
Life of Saint Vincent of Saragossa (+ 304). He was the deacon of Bishop Valerius of Saragossa. Along with him, he was summoned by the governor to Valencia. In Valencia they suffered terribly under the persecutions of the Emperor Maximian, but both refused to renounce their faith. Bishop Valerius was banished while Vincent was martyred. According to legend, he was skinned alive and what remained of him was thrown into a nearby swamp. His remains were defended by a raven until his followers had the chance to bury him.
