CONTEXT
Godfried Pachomius entered the monastery of Villers together with his father Renier and his brothers Renier and Thomas. His Vita was written by his brother Thomas for their sister Alice, who lived as a Cistercian nun in Vrouwenpark.
ABSTRACT
Life of Godfried, called Pachomius († 2 November 1262), written by his brother Thomas. After his sojourn with the regular canons of St-Geertrui near Louvain, Godfried Pachomius entered the Cistercian abbey of Villers around 1216. Godfried Pachomius is praised in the Vita for his charity, his visions and prophecies, his self-discipline, etc.
