Compilation of the history of Tournay till 1498, holding the origins of the city in the age of Julius Caesar, a chronology of Roman emperors after Caesar, and notes on French kings, the popes, the counts of Flanders and the abbots of St Martin, including the history of the siege of Tournay in 1340, the battles of Crécy and Agincourt, the murder of the dukes of Orléans and the history of Joan of Arc. The compilation is followed by an original writing covering the period 1470-1498, important for abbey history, but Mathieu Grenet also gives information about the government of Louis XI, the conflict between France and Burgundy, the expeditions of Charles VIII in Italy and his death in 1498.
