ABSTRACT
Life of saint Brictius of Tours (+444), pupil of bishop St. Martin of Tours. According to legend, he was in his youth a difficult and disobedient prelate. Nevertheless, he was elected to succeed Martin in 379. After twenty years, he got expelled from his bishopric by the people of Tours. He then went to Rome for penance and repented for seven years. After seven years, he was again appointed bishop of Tours. And because of the fact that his behavior and manners were changed so much, he was canonized immediately after his death.
